Toner Plastics Filament Featured in Maker Box’s Filament Subscription Service
- On July 6, 2016
Beginning in June 2016, Maker Box began featuring Toner Plastics 3D printing filament in their monthly subscription service.
Here is an excerpt from Maker Box’s website that tells a little bit about their company as well as how their service works:
“With all the different 3D printing filaments out there, trying them all can get rather expensive. We partnered with various filament manufacturers to deliver a box that is inexpensive and includes filament samples from top filament brands. Each month you will receive different filament samples delivered to your doorstep. The length of the filament is the same no matter what the filament is. However due to different filament densities the weight will vary, but it is roughly 50 grams worth of ABS/PLA.
Each filament sample is packaged in its own air tight bag along with silica gel to keep the filament fresh when it arrives at your door. Inside each box you will also find a reference guide for printing temperatures and settings and potential discount codes. In addition monthly competitions will be held where we will be giving away SPECIAL items. These specialty items can be anything from a brand new hotend to a roll of filament or anything else related to 3D printing. The more subscribers we have the BIGGER and BETTER these items get.”
As stated above, one of the most exciting features of the Maker Box service is that consumers get special discount codes that can be used when purchasing the filament from the manufacturers that are featured in the box. Another great feature is that every month the contents of the box are a complete surprise.
The first review came from Chris Brown, who focues on 3D printing product and filament reviews for products on the market and for products that are in their beta testing phase.
